About Me

My opinions are entirely subjective and I don’t speak for anyone else. I have been gaming since I was old enough to hold a controller, so what I can provide you is an honest review with over twenty years of gaming experience.

I think game reviews are important because video games are important. They are the main form of entertainment of the 21st century. If people felt the need to write movie reviews because life’s too short to spend two hours watching a movie you probably won’t like, then it is also too short for us to spend 80+ hours playing games we may never finish.

I focus mainly on visual novels as they’ve provided the best stories I’ve seen in video games since I started them in 2018. They provide the same nourishment as books, movies, and, being akin to plays, they give us a closer more personal experience by adding a layer of interactivity that brings us even closer to the characters. I see games like Umineko, The House in Fata Morgana, and Dies Irae no different than literary classics like Anna Karenina, Alice in Wonderland, or The Picture of Dorian Gray.

Visual Novels tend to include more risqué genres and forms of storytelling than its anime, manga, and light novel counterparts. They are a niche within a niche and usually cater to an audience that knows what it’s getting into. These genres might be considered too adult-oriented than people are used to from anime-style storytelling but therein lies its strengths, which I hope to shed light on in my reviews.
